As a kid I hated my grand father’s BX. At traffic lights the re ar would go down and they before he pulled away from the lights, the rear would come back up and off we’d go. As a kid not knowing what the hell was going on, I found it stressful.

Pros: it’s quirky and French

You’ve hit the nail on the head.

This is a car that I would love for my neighbor to own.

Those things are a blast to drive. I had loads of fun in a NA diesel one during the Wales Oppo meet last March, keeping up with a stock NA MX5/Miata (partly due to driver differences). This one has but a fraction of the miles and almost double the power. Same engine as the legendary Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9. Had I had a little bit more disposable money and a place to store it I’d certainly own a BX again.

What you've done there, is you've gone full architect.

This is the correct answer.

This one looks so clean, and the price is so reasonable!

Maybe, but I’d consider an SM/DS/CX more of an Architect’s car than I would the  BX funky hot hatch.

The upside of the BX is that it’s much simpler, much better protected against rust and mechanically quite reliable. Only the rubber/plastic lines of the suspension deteriorate with age, which might cause issues.

I need to hurry up and get my house/ garage designed and built so that I can buy silly things like this.

Probably a little  issue with the suspension; a sphere that needed a refill?

It was quite a while back, I just hated the thing.
